Final Prediction

It’s the top 3, the season is wrapping up, so what can we expect this next two weeks? See, at this point in season 4, everyone knew Carrie would win. Even last season, Melinda was losing steam, and we could see Jordin becoming the front-runner. In season 5, once Chris got the boot, it was Taylor’s game to lose. This season? It is hard to pick the winner, even now.

Although Syesha has been picking up steam, (and believe me, I would love to be proven wrong in a huge upset), I think she is going this week. Jason had a lot of teen voters who are also loyal to the show. His votes will probably filter towards Cookie, with a few towards Archie. I think this will leave Syesha a day late and a dollar short this week, despite the likely-hood of turning out some killer performances.

A David-David finale is fairly inevitable at this point.

But then what? Mr. Cook has been consistently fantastic. He has a great chance of winning the whole thing at this point. I can see him, despite getting a pathetically crappy original song to sing next week, tweaking it to his benefit. It could be awesome.

And as we all know, Archie is having his own set of parental issues off set, so that could shake him this week and into next. And I know I am going against logic and common sense, but I STILL predict Archuleta to take this puppy home. He has his vices: his blubbering stage banter and a crazy parental unit, but I think a week from today, when you see the fireworks, and the gospel choir, and his adorable chubby cheeks singing his heart out on stage, he is going to get a bunch of swing voters.

There is always the upset scenario: Archie self-destructs tonight and Syesha and Cookie have another sing-off, with David taking the cake. And while I could see this panning out as well, I have learned to go with my gut instinct at this stage of the game.

Am I crazy? You tell me…

Interesting observations!! VERY hard to predict this year, but I am fully confident of a battle of the Davids next week and I am hopeful that Cookie will win. He is most deserving. I cannot stop listening to his Analog Heart CD (independent work prior to AI) — don’t know if any of you out there downloaded it before it was pulled off amazon.com, but it is phenomenal. He is a musical genius. The guitar. The voice. He even plays piano on one of the songs! And the lyrics blow me away!!! They are introspective and beautiful. This man is just unreal. It gives me an idea of the kind of music he will release after Idol (whether he wins or not) and I cannot wait to watch his career develop! He is an unbelieveable all around artist! He is destined for great success…I think years dow the road he will have his own record label and he’ll be signing and mentoring new artists! Man, he has just captivated me since Hello, but wow – I just can’t get enough :)

I do think Syesha has the potential to release a good CD and I hope someone signs her to a label. As for Little David. He has a good voice, but is he versatile or can he only do ballads? Can he write music? Guess we’ll see. I don’t know if he has any potential for true staying power…

I think you are really quite accurate. I really am not sure who will win it. Now that Jason is gone I have to root for David Cook. I honestly do not care for Dacid Archuleta. I have gotton very tired of listening to him sing ballads. Although, I have heard he is singing some Chris Brown, not sure how accurate, and that should be interesting. I have a feeling he might screw it up. As for Syesha. I like her but I don’t think she would be a good AI winner. As randy has said a couple times, she is a Broadway singer not a recording singer. I just wouldn’t like her singing. So, I am courious to hear and see what the top 3 sing tonight.

I write this just as little David starts his first ballad of the evening. D Girl, I think you’re right on. He has a beautiful and powerful voice, but what’s there to back it up? Does he have the words in him to write songs as powerful as his voice? Every week he comes back with a beautiful ballad, but he doesn’t do much to mix things up. I am not sure he has the staying power to last past idol if were to win. So while I like him,I’d really like to see a David Cook v. Syesha final. And of course a David Cook win. But regardless I think he’s around to stay, and I can’t wait to see what he’ll do!

I’m hoping that Cook will pull it out. I would LOOOOVE to see David A. go home tomorrow but I don’t think I’ll get my wish. I just don’t see what everyone else seems to see. As far as Syesha goes, I’ve been wishing her off since the top 12! LOL! Until tomorrow!

I too was less than impressed with all of the performances tonight. But little David was just boring! Nice effort on the second song to try something new, but unfortunately it didn’t work for him. He’s a ballads kid. I disagreed with the judges on Sayesha, I liked her second and third performances. She was fun and showing some peronality. I really think it’s time for David A. to go home, like Kristi, I just don’t see what others do in him.

Something nice about Archie and Cookie during the Top 3 results night (shows both of them are really humble!):

Archie: When Ryan Seacrest announced the names of American Idol’s two finalists Wednesday, each thought he was going to hear another’s name.
“I couldn’t believe it. I thought he was going to say David Cook,” says David Archuleta, 17, named the first finalist as Cook and Syesha Mercado awaited their verdict.During an interview shortly after the show, Archuleta said: “I just feel like shock. Am I really in the top two of American Idol?”
Only one can win, but the finalists praise each other. “I’ve always looked up to Cook and admired all the work he’s done with his talent,” Archuleta says. “To be here standing next to him is just unbelievable.”

Cook: Cook, 25, says he thought he would be going home. “I thought my ticket was punched. I honestly did,” he says. “Syesha is an amazing performer, and she really hit her stride in the last two, three, four weeks.”

Hey, I came across this at the main American Idol forums for Archie. Apparently, he has an alternative duet album out in Itunes. The 2 songs are not bad, I like the Angels in the Alleyway in particular. He should make his future album like this and definitely not R&B (With You) disaster he did.

If you go onto iTunes, search for Merrick Christensen – Fear vs. Faith (feat. David Archuleta) and you will see that the album has him doing a duet with Merrick Christensen. The album was released on May 11th, 2008

I’m hoping David Cook is the winner. He has such a great range in his voice. David A. is cute and teeny-bopperish, but he sounds the same song after song. Rock on David Cook!
