Last night was the overall best episode of the season, so will this results show match up? Oh, wait, Taylor Hicks is on, so that remains to be seen.
Celebrity (sort of) spotting – Jessica Szohr from Gossip Girl right behind Simon. She is also from Milwaukee, so perhaps she is rooting for Gokey.
These Ford Music Videos are becoming more boring as the season goes on. This one, entitled “Energy,” was all obviously green-screened. I thought they had a whole day to dedicate to these videos! Maybe it is the Ford funding that is waning.
Group Medley?!? Sans lip-syncing?!? They sang It Don’t Mean A Thing and I’ve got Rhythm – Love it! That was seriously the best one yet. These guys can all really sing!
Then there was the food fight video. Gokey, you’re seriously going to pick on Allison? She is 12 years younger than you, and a girl. Obviously she can’t win…but I guess that is why he is stuck with the clean-up bill.
Then the killings – Ryan sends Matt to one side, and sends Danny to the other. OMG, is Ryan Georging them tonight?
Then he sends Allison to stand with Danny, and he sends Kris to stand with Matt. A Georging!
That leaves Lambert getting Georged. However, the twist is that he is not safe–he is the bottom 3 and grouped with Matt and Kris.
Kara’s mouth dropped open when she heard, and claimed her mouth always opens when Adam is concerned. Note to Kara: he is not playing for your team.
After the break, Something’s Gotta Give by Natalie Cole, which, to be honest, came off as a little screechy. She looks great though – unlike the disco stars last week, she has aged really well!
Taylor Hicks is back singing his new song 7 Mile Breakdown which I actually liked! Better than Natalie’s performance, anyway.
And in a record #3 guest performance, Jamie Foxx has to sing his song Blame It, which was blah. Of the three guest performances, Taylor Hicks was my favorite. And I can’t believe I just typed that, but it is true.
My God, these commercial breaks are getting ridiculous.
Finally, we get to the results, and Adam is safe.

Generally, during top 5 week, they announce the bottom 2. In announcing the bottom 3, of which I assume Adam is 3rd (My guess in rankings from top to bottom is Danny, Allison, Adam, Kris, Matt) is to mobilize team Glambert for the coming weeks. Additionally, in the ousting of Matt, Kris should pick up most of his votes. Not sure if this will ensure an Adam/Kris finale, but it seems to be headed that direction.
I am sad that my number one pick is gone, but like Matt himself said, he had 9 lives on this show, and it was his time to go. I am looking forward to Adam and Allison excelling next week. Should be awesome!
