Top O’ The Mornin Evenin’ to ya. Perhaps the results will be in a Pot o’ gold. Ok, I promise no more St. Patty’s nonsense, especially since Steven still thinks it is Halloween. His results show ensembles are always more eccentric than performance night.
Another seemingly awesome-despite-lipsync-ing group medley with a Glee-esque mashup of Born To Be Wild and Born This Way. Appropriately themed songs, well arranged, including singing and dancing? Yes, please. I like this trend of group medleys, Nigel. You have my seal of approval. Now if only the Ford music vid could be equally exciting…
But alas, no. Instead it will perpetuate internet rumors of Haley and Stefano hooking up. Gah.
Ryan pimps Idol’s 10th Anniversary CD, and plays Oprah for a moment. EVERY. BODY. GETS. AN. ALBUM. !!!!! Ok, maybe it wasn’t quite that bad…
On to the new results night feature of the Random Interviews. They bleeped Pia saying Shih Tzu… Really?
Anyway, onto the real reason we all tuned in…Casey, Jacob, and Lauren are up first. Randy has no idea how to fix pitch problems because he is NOT A SINGER. Thanks Jen for piping in. Jacob is safe. Lauren is safe. Ryan questions Steven’s definition of goop before announcing Casey is also safe.
Next Haley and Paul are up. Haley has some funky blues rock inside of her. And she is in the bottom 3, but Paul is safe.
After the break, Lee DeWyze is back with his new single. I am not really a fan of this song–it is just ok. Sort of like the entire Season 9. At least he is a nice guy.
After the break, more results. Scotty, Pia, and James are up. Scotty is safe. Pia is safe. And James along with his tail is safe.
Naima and Stefano are up next. Naima is in the bottom 3, and Stefano is safe. Karen and Thia are up last. Karen is in the bottom 3 and Thia is safe.
The Black Eyed Peas are performing after the break. Why does Fergie pronounce things so weird? And have neon green nails? Don’t love.
After the break, Naima is declared safe. Haley is declared safe, and Karen is singing her swan song to beg for mercy. She chooses to sing some Mariah. She even begs for mercy a bit which is all she can do. And the judges don’t use the save.
OUT TONIGHT:
Karen Rodriguez
So they were running like 10 seconds ahead of schedule (OMG), which let us see a little of the judges interacting with the contestants. And Jen was giving advice to some of the low vote getters – I know I have said this before, but I really like Jen as a judge. She is compassionate and gives constructive criticism. I know people think she might be too easy on the kids, but I think her touch is just right. Steven and Randy I’m not completely sold on, but I like J. Lo for this show.
Until next week…
